Église Notre-Dame de Chemillé La Nouvelle

Church typical of the reconstruction of churches at the end of the 19th century

The Church of Notre-Dame La Nouvelle was completed in 1884. It was given the name "nouvelle" to distinguish it from the 12th-century Romanesque church.

An imposing church, visible from afar, it offers an interesting architectural diversity. Its stained-glass windows depict, among other things, the legend of the Sainte Larme and episodes from the life of Pétronille de Chemillé, 1st abbess of Fontevraud Abbey.

It is listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments.
