Come and visit the outside of this magnificent Château
Eclectic movement for the new château completed in 1851, attributed to Delarue.Communes built by Sébastien Delletre between 1854 and 1856. Former fief and seigneury belonging to Guillaume de Cornesse in 1458. Jean de Carbonnier, husband of Anne de la Roche, owned it in the 16th century. Pierre de La Haie sold it and the Rochbouët to François Grimaudet in 1595. In the 16th century, the main building of the Rouvaux estate consisted of a fortified quadrilateral manor-farm surrounded by a moat. The Rochebouët Rouvoltz alliance in 1845 gave rise to the transformation of the estate. A new château was built on top of the Rouvaux land in 1851 to plans attributed to the architect Pierre Félix Delarue. The ensemble was set in newly designed parkland, including a pond.
The park and the exterior of the buildings are the only parts of the estate open to visitors in summer. Visits are free or accompanied by the owners and/or documents.
