Here, everything is intact: the château survived the French Revolution unscathed and has come down to us in a unique state of preservation, right down to the furnishings, which are still those of the period.
Built between 1772 and 1776 by the Maréchal de Contades, Château de Montgeoffroy has retained its soul thanks to its descendants, who still live there and open their doors to you today.
Wandering through the living rooms, admiring the master paintings on the walls, looking at the fabrics, silks and Indiennes on the armchairs: a visit to Montgeoffroy is a real immersion in the French art of living in the 18th century.
The kitchen, with its 260 copper and pewter pieces, will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your visit, as will the 16th-century chapel, the saddlery and the stables.
