CHATEAU DU ROCHER

Listed as a historic monument, this 15th-century estate boasts English-style parkland, a 16th-century chapel and an elegant Renaissance-style gallery.

One of the finest châteaux in the Mayenne, Château du Rocher takes its name from the granite outcrop of the Armorican Massif on which it was built in the 13th century. The castle became an inhabited manor house in the 14th and 15th centuries. Chapel dedicated to Sainte-Catherine.
Its majestic silhouette is reflected in a pond set in the heart of English-style parkland, offering visitors a delightful panoramic view.
The main facade of the château features a magnificent sculpted Renaissance façade, the only one of its kind.
It has belonged to some of the great families of Maine and Brittany: Le Maire, Bouillé, Roquelaure, Eynard, du Plessis d'Argentré and Le Gonidec de Traissan.
