Château de la Roche-Noyant
On the Rennes/Angers axis, the Château de la Roche-Noyant is a fine example of late 18th-century architecture. The building is located in Noyant-la-Gravoyère, a small commune in the Anjou Bleu region.
Built between 1785 and 1788 by Louis de Dieusie, a wealthy landowner, Château de la Roche-Noyant is a fine example of Enlightenment architecture. The builder was guillotined in 1794, but unfortunately did not benefit much from his work. The château was sold in 1804 to Baron de Candé, whose family lived there until the end of the 1970s, tastefully carrying out numerous improvements over the years (outbuildings and park designed by Jacques Chevallier in 1878). After being occupied by a school for 20 years, its current owners have been committed to the upkeep and renovation of this beautiful property for the past 20 years.Visit only the exterior: the park, terrace and outbuildings.
