The Courteille mill nestles in the valley of the Vègre, a charming, calm river full of fish. The guided tour lasts one hour and covers the history and operation of mills from the Middle Ages to the present day, the different types of mills and their techniques...

This "wheat" mill was mentioned as early as 1534, and its layout is typical of mills on the Sarthe, built on medium-sized rivers.

Its current mechanism is "English", with cast-iron gears and pulleys dating from the mid-19th century.

Its large 5.00 m diameter paddle wheel drives 2 pairs of millstones.

The machine is still in working order.
