Located in Laval, La Cité du Lait is a museum where milk is presented in its cultural, heritage, industrial and gastronomic dimensions. Both an interpretation centre and a collection of over 4,000 items, La Cité du Lait celebrates our dairy heritage through its tours, life-size activities, educational workshops and numerous cultural and gourmet events.

During your visit, you'll discover the former Laval dairy and the story of an unprecedented industrial adventure. Founded in 1933 by André Besnier, the Laval-based company is resolutely attached to its Mayenne roots, and is now part of the Lactalis Group, the world's leading dairy products company. Continue your journey through a large collection of objects dedicated to the world of dairy products, and discover the evolution of the dairy industry. At the end of the themed tour, take advantage of access to the shop and the expertise of our team to advise you on the best dairy products.

Ideally located on the banks of the Mayenne, just a few metres from the cycle paths and towpath on the Vélo Francette itinerary, La Cité du Lait has been awarded the Accueil Vélo label.
