Near the church is the wash-house. Drawing its water from a tributary of the River Jaunay, it has been remodelled several times to make the hard work of the "washerwomen" easier. From the 1960s onwards, with the arrival of running water and washing machines, the wash-house lost its importance as a place to work and meet people.

In the summer of 2003, a youth work camp restored the old washhouse to its former glory. It's easy to get to this site in the hedgerow and rediscover the peace and quiet, the echoes of days gone by and the ancestor of today's washing machines.
