LE MONT DES AVALOIRS ET SON BELVEDERE

From the terrace of the lookout on Mont des Avaloirs, the highest point in western France (417m), you can enjoy a 360° panorama of hedged farmland, orchards and forests.

The highest point in the Armorican Massif and the West of France (416 metres above sea level). Whether you’re a nature lover or simply curious, all you need to do is climb the 108 steps to the Belvédère to enjoy a 360° panoramic view, where you can admire the landscape stretching up to 100 km in all directions. At the foot of this structure, information boards recount the history of this place steeped in mystery. Not far from the Belvédère car park, a footpath begins leading to a spot known as ‘La Pierre au Loup’, where the River Mayenne has its source.
