The Etang de la Merlatière, a pleasant place to fish, hike or picnic

The Etang des Brosses is located between the communes of La Merlatière (85140) and La Ferrière (85280). It covers an area of around 10 hectares. It is a pretty green spot. Visitors can enjoy the bowling green, the 2 tennis courts and the fitness trail that runs alongside the pond. You can also walk around the pond. It is also a stop-off point for the Pays des Essarts hiking trail. There are several picnic tables. Finally, the pond is very popular with anglers. Remember that you need a fishing licence to fish. The daily pass costs €5 for adults and €3 for children under 16. It is on sale on site from 31 March to 27 October. The annual pass costs 45€.
