Tour de trompe-souris
Asnières-sur-Vègre is a small town full of character in the Sarthe Valley. Discover the Manoir de la Cour and its arts and crafts.
According to tradition, Asnières was one of the first parishes founded in Maine in the 5th century. The Canons of the Cathedral Chapter of Le Mans became the barons of Asnières in the 11th century. They commissioned a remarkable campaign of wall paintings in the church of Saint-Hilaire.The Manoir de la Cour: It was probably built by the canons at the end of the 13th century. This building will house the local heritage interpretation centre.
The architectural forms and colour palette of the traditional buildings of Asnièrois are dominated by the ochre tones of the sandstone and ferruginous sands.
The loops of the Vègre are home to manor houses and châteaux of feudal origin, including the Château de Moulinvieux.
Make a diversion to the conservatory orchard, planted in 1998 and awarded the "Jardin d'oiseaux" label.
Along the way, you can discover the Château de Dobert (commune of Avoise, private).
