The Sarthe Valley to the south-west of Le Mans widens comfortably into the Plaine d'Allonnes. The right bank is made up of gentle undulations through which the Orne Champenois winds its way. Copses, meadows and crops diversify the landscape, which has not been too much altered by land consolidation. The sunken lanes sometimes run deep, often making you forget that the big city of Le Mans is nearby, or at the end of a climb leading to a higher point, the eye takes in a wide panorama towards the south-eastern regions: Bercé, Bélinois...
