CIRCUIT DE LA ROCHE GOVI
You will discover Boivre marshes and its fauna and flora during this path of 19 km.
A 19km walking and cycling circuit to discover the Roche Govi menhir and the Boivre marsh with its remarkable flora and fauna. The Roche Govi trail, which is partly flooded in winter, starts from Saint-Pierre church, which has the tallest nave in the Pays de Retz. Walk down to the restored wash-house, then take the path leading to the Conservatoire des Vieux Métiers.
A few steps further on, a path leads down to the Pont Neuf pond, which has a picnic area. You will then pass through a number of typical rural villages, near the Lancaster crash stele and the Coquelinières fountain. The route takes you to the Roche Govi menhir, then on to the Boivre marshland with its wet meadows and the presence of numerous birds.
At the end of the route, you'll have a superb view of the mouth of the Loire and the Sillon de Bretagne.
Bonus: there's a 7km link to Saint-Brevin and the sea!
As a family, don't hesitate to consult our "Ouvre l'œil" (Open your eyes) information sheet, a collection that allows young and old alike to discover some of the bird species seen on the route, and to better understand the different landscapes we pass through.
