In the heart of the natural Boulogne valley, the Département de la Vendée invites you to explore 7,000 years of history in a museum like no other, the Historial.

Let yourself be transported to the heart of 7,000 years of history, in a museum with astonishing architecture!

Geology, Prehistory, Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Modern Era, the Vendée War, the 19th century... Discover history in complete freedom, and become part of the era you're living through. For an hour, or the whole day, the innovative museography will awaken all your senses and change your mind about museums. The Children's Museum, an innovative concept, offers a fun way to discover the sea.
The Historial also offers a rich and varied programme of events throughout the year, including shows, workshops, guided tours, storytelling and star-studded evenings.
