Eglise Saint Pierre (Les Clouzeaux)

This stone church dates from the 14th century. It is one of the few sanctuaries in the Vendée not to have a bell tower.

Nestling in the picturesque commune of Les Clouzeaux, in the Vendée, Saint-Pierre Church is a XIVᵉ century treasure. This place of worship, dedicated to Saint Peter, combines historic charm with architectural simplicity.

A unique history

The church, built during the Middle Ages, has survived the ages by retaining some of its original character. One of the most significant events in its history was the partial collapse of its bell tower in 1948, an event that left its mark on local memory. For safety reasons, the bells were installed outside, and the bell tower, although damaged, has remained as it was, adding a unique character to the building.

A place of serenity

Today, the Church of Saint-Pierre des Clouzeaux continues to amaze visitors with its peaceful atmosphere and timeless architecture. It's an ideal place to take a quiet moment and immerse yourself in local history.
