The church of Saint Pierre dates from the 12th and 19th centuries. The tower and apse remain from the Romanesque church, which was considerably altered in the 19th century. The building has 4-leaf semi-ogive openings, as well as a semi-ogive western doorway, formerly topped by a Gothic pinnacle.

Crissé was first mentioned in 616 and its name appears on Merovingian coins. In feudal times, this small rural village came under the barony of Sillé le Guillaume.
