ÉGLISE SAINT MARTIN DU SILLON

Listed as a Historical Monument since 1984, the Church of Saint Martin du Sillon was built in the 12th century by the monks of Blanche Couronne Abbey (La Chapelle Launay).

Along with Notre Dame de Bouée, it is the oldest church in the region.
Altered several times over the centuries, only the Romanesque entrance porch remains from the time of its construction. The rest of the building, including the side door, features moulded pilasters characteristic of the Renaissance style. The choir is Baroque in inspiration and the stained glass windows are in the Flamboyant Gothic style. Destroyed by fire in 1994, the church has been restored to its original condition.
