Maison dite de Jeanne d'Arc - Ancien auditoire de Justice
House known as Joan of Arc
Situated in the village, near the church, this house dating from the second half of the 15th century is the former Auditoire de Justice of the châtellenie de Pescoux, of which Colbert was one of the lords.Justice was administered here every Wednesday until 1789; the "cahier de doléances" was drawn up in the courtroom in March 1789 by the citizens of Contilly.
Several architectural features can be seen, including a painted Gothic fireplace and two murals.
Numerous 15th century architectural details attest to the seigniorial origin of this dwelling: moulded mullioned doors and windows, Gothic fireplaces with representations of the Crucifixion, etc.
