TERRASSES DU JAUNAY
A castle has stood on the rock overlooking the valley since the 9th century. It was destroyed in 1628 on the orders of Cardinal de Richelieu.
At the foot of the old castle (just behind the church in Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche), bucolic gardens have been laid out in tiers and have become a walkway leading down to the River Jaunay.
This development has been recognised by the Comité National pour le Fleurissement, which awarded the commune the Heritage Enhancement Prize.
