Come and (re)discover the town's emblematic building and ramparts!
Relive the history of the city as you walk through the medieval rooms on the 1st floor, browse the temporary exhibition on the 2nd floor and take a walk on the ramparts to get some height.
Family workshops and guided tours are available to help you learn more about the hidden secrets of the city walls.

You can book tickets for the museum, medieval birthdays, mystery investigations at the Porte Saint-Michel, or workshops and events during the school holidays.
PROGRAMME 2025 :
- Exhibition "Moulin, tu dors? An area open to the wind, the Guérande peninsula was home to around forty mills. Turquois, small-footed or tower mills, they have criss-crossed the landscape since the end of the 14th century. This exhibition invites you to discover the world of mills, from their architecture to their operation, from their technology to their production.
From 5 October 2024 to 23 March 2025. Entry fee included.

- Family investigation - Mystery at the Porte Saint-Michel (approx. 1? hours)
Five locked boxes, an old leather notebook that belonged to the last captain of the town of Guérande, and above all a golden box to find.
The Museum needs your help with an investigation of the utmost importance, but be quiet.... We can't tell you any more here. As a family, come and explore the Porte Saint-Michel through a series of tests that will require you to think, but not only that. Cooperation between young and old will be essential!
Sundays at 11am, 2pm and 4pm, and from Tuesday to Sunday during the school holidays (zones B and C) at the same times.
Between 2 and 6 people, including at least one adult. Recommended for children aged 7 and over.
Booking essential.
Prices : Adults: €9, Children aged 13 to 17: €7, Children aged 6 to 12: €4, Free for children under 6.
Guided tours are available:
- A tour from top to bottom (45 min): An essential visit to get to know the monument. An enthusiastic guide will tell you all about the history and architecture of the building, and will take you all the way up to the roof of the building, where you'll never have been before!
When the museum is open, included in the admission fee.
- La Porte Saint-Michel dans tous les sens (45 min): A sensory tour for families aged 5 and over.
Saturdays and Sundays at 3.30pm, included in the admission fee.

Additional information:
- Access for pushchairs is particularly difficult on the staircases on the various floors. Baby carriers are preferable. A space is available for pushchairs and baby carriers can be loaned.
- To facilitate the flow of visitors and avoid waiting times, it is advisable to visit in the morning or at the end of the day.
