La Maison des Paludiers

A dynamic 4-part tour.
On a 1.2 km walking tour, you'll be immersed in the world of salt marshes as you explore the salt marsh village and salt pans.

The tour begins with a scale model showing the formation and morphology of the salt marshes.
You will then wander through the streets of the saltmarsh village of Saillé, with its distinctive architecture.
You'll then decipher the marsh landscape and follow the flow of water from pond to pond.
Finally, you'll walk alongside and then descend (weather permitting) into the salt pans to understand how salt is harvested and the skills of the salt workers.


In case of rain...
When it rains, the salt pans are inaccessible. However, the Maison des Paludiers (salt workers' centre) lets you discover the salt marshes from a sheltered spot.
