LA MAISON DE L'HISTOIRE
Founded in 1973, the aim of our association is to study history in the broadest sense of the term within the area encompassed by the "Challans Gois Communauté" community of municipalities and extended to the north-west of the Vendée.
It collects and preserves all documents relating to this area, preserves the historical heritage of the Challans area and its region, and uses all possible means to publicise the history of the Challans area, its surroundings and the north-west of the Vendée.
The association also aims to be a place of information, training, exchange and awareness-raising for the general public and young people, particularly schoolchildren.
At the same time, it aims to be a forum for reflection in the fields of history, heritage, architecture, the arts, town planning, landscape, the environment and related disciplines.
Finally, the association's role is to pass on, educate and share the local history of our region with the widest possible audience.
