LE JARDIN MÉDIÉVAL DES CAVES
Created in 2014 to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Anne of Brittany, this garden provides an educational introduction to the plants cultivated in the Middle Ages.
Here you can discover some of the forgotten species that were once found on the tables and in the concoctions of the people and dukes of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance. With the help of Yves-Marie Allain, a horticultural engineer and former director of the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, and Alain Poulard of the Institut Français des Vins de Vertou, this group of enthusiasts can now proudly offer visitors a garden that combines aesthetics with historical knowledge.
