Parc du Château de la Baugisière

Château dating from the 18th century, located between the historic town of Fontenay-le-Comte and the Mervent-Vouvant forest.

Visit the park. Château dating from the 18th century, listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments. The castle was rebuilt in 1741 by Maximilien BOUTOU on the remains of an earlier castle. The BOUTOU family, of ancient knighthood, kept the Baugisière from the 18th to the 19th century.
The park is a vast regular composition centred on the Château, leading through the woods to the lake.

Open to individuals:
- 1 to 18 July & 1 to 19 September:
10.30am - 12.30pm / 1.30pm - 5.30pm
- Heritage Days (20-21 September):
Saturday & Sunday: 10.30am - 5.30pm

Open all year round for groups by reservation. (20 pers. min.)
