VALLÉE DE LA CHÉZINE-CHANTENAY
From the Butte Sainte-Anne to the Quai de la Fosse, passing through the Val de Chézine, you'll be linking public and family gardens and green spaces, often via small, almost timeless passages.
The Chantenay district is inextricably linked with the Butte Sainte-Anne, which offers a remarkable and unique view over the Ile de Nantes. This former workers' stronghold, home to the shipyards and large factories on the banks of the Loire, is now taking on the appearance of a village within the city. There are several lookouts along the hillside. You then link public and family gardens and green spaces, often taking small, almost timeless paths.
Then you reach the Vallée de la Chézine, a small river flowing through a valley shaded by alders and poplars. At first, the river widens into a pool that is popular with anglers. It then narrows as it flows through the Parc de Procé, before finally being completely channelled at its confluence with the Loire.
Finally, you make your way back down to the city centre past the Maillé-Brézé, the ship featured in Christopher Nolan's film Dunkirk. This story of water is even more majestic when the Belem, the "famous three-master", returns to port.
