The GR®3 in three days along the Loire

Explore the GR®3 over a 70km route between Saumur and Mûrs-Erigné, and discover the treasures of the Loire Valley. Pass through refreshing undergrowth, admire the impressive views over the Loire, and stroll through typical villages where Gallo-Roman history is revealed through megaliths and ancient Roman camps. This varied route also takes you through orchards, vineyards and charming villages dotted with manor houses and châteaux, offering an immersion in the natural and historical beauty of the region.

PRACTICAL TIPS AND INFORMATION :

This fully signposted route starts in Saumur and is best completed in 3 days. Suitable for all levels, it offers a route with a few changes in altitude through undergrowth and forest paths. To adapt it to your own pace, you can divide it into 3 stages according to your preferences.

CAR-FREE HOLIDAY :

Saumur is easily accessible by train, with a station located right in the town centre. This means you can go straight to the heart of the town without needing a car, and everything is within easy reach to make the most of your stay.

- Saumur > Trèves: 22.8 km - Signposted GR® White and Red
- Trèves > Saint-Rémy-la-Varenne: 24 km - Signposted GR® White and Red
- Saint-Rémy-la-Varenne > Mûrs-Erigné: 23.7 km - Signposted GR® White and Red
