LE MOULIN À PAPIER

In Sainte-Suzanne, come and discover the Vicomte mill, home to one of France's last master papermakers!

Formerly the mill of the lords of Sainte-Suzanne, the Grand Moulin – or Vicomte’s Mill – was used to grind grain from the Middle Ages right through to the 20th century.
Now a traditional paper mill, paper is made by hand here following the traditions of the master papermakers practised between the 13th and 18th centuries.
Guided tours are led by Carlos Robert, the papermaker, who shares his expertise and his love of fine paper with you. He demonstrates the various stages of production right before your eyes, from cutting the rags to drying the paper.

Groups and school groups by booking only from April to October.
Guided tours for individuals, no booking required, take place at 3.00 pm at weekends from April to the end of June. In July and August, guided tours are held at 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm every day except Mondays. Tours at 3.00 pm on weekends in September.
Open to groups, by booking, in the mornings in July and August, except on Mondays.

Adult admission: €8 per person.
Child admission (aged 6–17): €4 per person.
Paper-making workshop fee: €8 per child. Duration: 2½ hours

If fewer than 20 people: flat rate of €100
For 20 people or more: €5 per person
