LE MOULIN À PAPIER

In Sainte-Suzanne, come and discover the Vicomte mill, home to one of France's last master papermakers!

Once the mill of the lords of Sainte-Suzanne, the Grand Moulin or Viscount's Mill was used to grind grain from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.
Today it is a traditional paper mill, where paper is made by hand according to the traditions of the Maîtres-Papetiers (master papermakers) in force between the 13th and 18th centuries.
The guided tours are led by Carlos Robert, the paper-maker, who will reveal his expertise and share his love of fine paper with you. In front of you, he will explain the different stages of production, from cutting the rag to drying it.

Groups and schools by prior arrangement from April to October.
Guided tours for individuals at weekends at 3pm from April to the end of June, no booking required. In July and August, guided tours at 2.30pm and 4.30pm every day except Monday. Visits at 3pm on weekends in September.
Open to groups, by prior arrangement, mornings in July and August except Mondays.

Individual adult price: €8 per person.
Children (aged 6 to 17): €4 per person.
Group rate: €5 per person, for groups of 20 or more.
