JUBLAINS, CITÉ GALLO-ROMAINE

Considered to be the biggest and best evidence of the Gallo-Roman era in the west of France, Jublains invites you to open the great book of ancient history.

Take a journey through time.

With free access, you'll discover several monuments that are emblematic of an ancient city: the temple (to the north), the thermal baths (under the church) and the theatre, which offers a remarkable view of the surrounding landscape.
(under the church) and the theatre, offering a remarkable view of the surrounding landscape.

The Gallo-Roman temple, on the Route de Mayenne, marks the origins of the town; take the archaeological trail, a pedestrian zone leading up to the church, and you'll reach the Roman baths (museum opening hours).
Further on, you'll discover the theatre.

The departmental archaeological museum, which has been awarded the Tourism and Disability label, will enhance your visit.

Find out more about the museum here.

The museum will give you access to the fortress, a spectacular monument unique in Gaul, whose functions are still a mystery to historians and archaeologists.

Ask at the archaeological museum reception desk for a map of the city.
Guided tours are available for groups by prior arrangement.

In Jublains, the Forum Métiers d'Art is a place dedicated to the arts and crafts. It was built after the discovery of a district of craftsmen whose activities continue to this day.
