EGLISE DE LA TRINITÉ

The building, remarkable for its two bell towers, has its secrets. Every Sunday during the summer and during the European Heritage Days, parishioners help visitors and the curious to discover them.

It was built to replace the Romanesque church dating from the 13th century.
Construction began in 1863 under the direction of Abbé Bouron and was completed in 1881 with the construction of the two spires under the direction of Abbé Lavigne.
It is said that Abbé Lavigne, having raised enough money to give the church three naves, had his project for two spires measuring 62.14 and 60.53 metres approved, giving the church in the former capital of the Duchy of Retz the appearance of a cathedral.
