EGLISE SAINT VICTOR
Church dating from 1859-1876 and built of Nozay stone and tufa stone
This neo-Gothic church, in the shape of a Latin cross, has tufa stone harps on the walls and surrounds around the openings. It houses a gallery of statuettes of saints, listed as Historic Monuments in 1962. These 28 polychrome plaster statues, placed on the choir panelling, date from 1879. Also listed, the pulpit, made of oak by Barranger, is adorned with sixteen polychrome statues by Barbier of Nantes.The high altar is adorned with five polychrome wooden statues, sculpted by JP Fréour, representing the patron saints of the five frairies of La Grigonnais, including Saint Victor, patron saint of the parish and hermit of Campbon in the 6th century.
