Église Notre-Dame-des-Marais

A jewel of Renaissance religious architecture, the church at La Ferté-Bernard was built between 1450 and 1623 on former drained marshland. It boasts a Renaissance choir (vaulted ceiling with balustrade reliefs) and an exceptional collection of 35 15th, 16th and 19th-century stained glass windows, some of which depict the families of donors. Other highlights include 15th-century alabaster, a swallow's nest organ dating from 1536, and vaults with decorated coffers and hanging keys (1520-
1545)
