Église Saint-Pontien - Marigné

In the heart of Anjou Bleu, this small church dedicated to Saint-Pontien was built in the 16th century on the foundations of an older chapel. Situated in the heart of Marigné, it is close to the River Mayenne.

Built in the 16th century, this charming church was built on the remains of a chapel dating from the 10th and 11th centuries. At the time, the building was attached to a castle.
The church was dedicated on 4 July 1512 and named after Saint Bontien, a martyr who was tortured in Rome in the 12th century.
Built on the banks of the River Mayenne, the church has a Latin cross plan.
