Eglise Saint-Nicolas
The church of Saint Nicolas stands almost on the edge of the Sillé forest, overlooking the small village of Le Grez.
Almost on the edge of the Sillé forest, before crossing into the Mayenne department, the church of St-Nicolas du Grez dominates the small village of Le Grez and its meadows. This small church, whose origins date back to the 11th century, has retained its charm as a prioral chapel. Pilgrims on their way to Mont Saint Michel would stop here to see the stained glass window depicting Saint Michel slaying the dragon. Also worth seeing: the azure starry vault of the apse. The church has retained its 19th-century appearance, particularly its old altar. The confessional is by Blaizot.
