ÉGLISE SAINT MARTIN - BEAUFAY

Don't miss out on a visit to Beaufay church during a walk or hike in the commune, as it is home to many treasures!

To date, we have no records of the exact origin of its construction. It is possible that the church was built by St Julien, the first bishop of Le Mans.
The slate-roofed bell tower dates from the 18th century and is around 35 metres high.
Inside, you can admire several altars (St Joseph, Notre Dame and St Antoine). If you look up, you will see a fragment of old stained glass depicting St Martin on horseback and a stained glass window depicting St Martin created by the schoolchildren.

Before leaving, don't miss the magnificent baptismal font (listed as a Historic Monument). Dating from the 15th century, it features 3 sculpted stone lions.
