Collégiale Notre Dame de l'Assomption
The collegiate church is protected and listed as part of the "Chemins de lumière" for the quality of its stained glass windows.
Notre-Dame de l'Assomption is a former Gothic collegiate church built on a Romanesque crypt (a former seigniorial chapel) that adjoined the château de Sillé le Guillaume. It contains exceptional furnishings, including sculpted stalls from the 16th century, as well as stained glass windows from the 19th and 20th centuries.
The stained glass window depicting Baroness Jeanne-Marie de Maillé was created by L. Lobin, a glass painter from Tours, in 1883. The window is listed.
Several stained glass windows were made by the Grüber family from Paris in 1936, 1950 and 1960.
Visitor information is available in several languages at the entrance to the Collegiate Church.
