Église Saint-Didier - Brain-sur-Longuenée

The 19th-century church of Saint-Didier in Brain-sur-Longuénée is less than 10 minutes from Le Lion d'Angers, in the heart of the Anjou Bleu region.

Rebuilt in the 19th century to accommodate the growing number of worshippers, the building was based on two pre-existing chapels, which were integrated into the new architecture. To adapt to the small size of the site, the architects made the bold choice of an octagonal plan, a rare layout inspired in particular by the famous Aachen model. Today, this architectural choice gives the church a unique silhouette and makes it a remarkable heritage site, to be discovered for its originality as much as for its history.
