Église Notre-Dame - Challain-la-Potherie

Notre-Dame church is built on the site of an 11th-century building. It is located in Challain-la-Potherie, in the heart of Anjou Bleu.

Notre-Dame church was partially rebuilt in the second half of the 18th century, but its capacity was no longer sufficient to accommodate the village's growing population. In 1821, the commune decided to extend the church. Reconstruction began in 1862 with the nave and bell tower, and ended in 1879 with the completion of the chancel, providing the faithful with a larger, more harmonious building that bears witness to the architectural evolution of the local religious heritage.
