CHAPELLE NOTRE DAME DE LA SALETTE
Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette chapel was built on the ruins of a Romanesque chapel dedicated to Saint-Sébastien. It is located in the current cemetery.
The Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette chapel is made of granite, grain stone and whitewash. Its history began after the parish priest of Trans made a pilgrimage to La Salette. On his return, the priest decided to build a chapel in honour of the Virgin. It was built on the ruins of a Romanesque chapel. Its octagonal shape, measuring 7.30 metres on each side, makes it truly original. The chapel's bell tower bears a statue of the Virgin Mary. Since 29 September 1858, the date of its blessing, the Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette chapel has become a place of pilgrimage. Free admission.Contact
