LA CARRIÈRE DES FUSILLÉS
An emblematic site of the Resistance and the Second World War, 27 hostages were shot in this quarry by the German occupiers on 22 October 1941, including 17-year-old Guy Môquet.
A memorial trail now pays tribute to the 27 Châteaubriant shootings (in retaliation for the attack by Feldkommandant Hotz in Nantes), as does the monument to Antoine Rohal, which overlooks the listed historic site.Admission and opening times: open all year round, free of charge.
