Sentier d'interprétation des Rairies
Discover the interpretation trail at Les Rairies.
Well-known today for its terracotta, it was from its building stone, known as "pierre des rairies", that the village developed its economy.Although clay is a major handicap for farming, it makes up the soil of Les Rairies, along with stone, and is an excellent raw material for making bricks and tiles.
That's why this commune specialised in stone and clay extraction from a very early stage.
This tradition has continued since the 15th century.
Today, this brick-making village is renowned for its two companies.
