Discover the charm of Durtal on this trail, with its magnificent castle overlooking the Loir, its old town, the historic Saint-Léonard district and the Val d'Argance.

At the crossroads of major roads, on a crossing point of the River Loir, Durtal has always been a place of history, symbolised by a castle that has stood the test of time. Follow in the footsteps of the princes and kings who stayed here, imagine the carriages passing through the town gates, hear the sound of the mills and tanneries that made the town rich. Step by step, Durtal, a town of stones born of water, reveals itself and its history.
To accompany you on your visit, step by step, you'll find a dozen panels presenting the history, monuments, the Loir Valley and economic life over the centuries to make your discovery easier.
It's a 4 km loop through the heart of the town's remarkable heritage. One by one, the historical and cultural treasures are revealed as you make your way through the various fun stages. There's no set pace or direction, just a thirst for discovery. The walkers become the actors of the visit.
We recommend you start your tour at Place du Général de Gaulle, opposite the Tourist Office. At the foot of the château, you'll find the 1st panel of the interpretation trail. Enjoy the walk!
