PORT DE CORDEMAIS
It was during the second half of the 19th century that the port of Cordemais was built on this former branch of the Loire.
Its ideal location between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire quickly led to the development of this "small port", which in the past was mainly devoted to fishing.
The last port on the Loire estuary to exist and operate, it still welcomes fishermen and yachtsmen today.
In season, from December to April, come and admire the fishing boats with their sieves, ready to harvest the precious glass eel.
During the summer months, the fishermen give way to a large number of pleasure boaters, stopping off in this arm of the Loire, away from prying eyes.
