Presentation of: LAC DU GUE GORAND

Initially, the Gué Gorand was a meandering stream feeding the River Jaunay. The situation changed in 1990 when a large compacted clay dyke was built to hold back the water over a surface area of more than 25 hectares. As a result, the landscape was altered and a large lake was created. Since then, the 400 hectares of neighbouring farmland and the Fontenelles golf course (Bluegreen) have been able to irrigate themselves thanks to the million cubic metres of water recovered.

The charming Lac du Gué Gorand is a peaceful spot for a stroll along the water's edge. Its footpath takes you around the reservoir by crossing the dyke. You'll discover many species of trees and a wide variety of wildlife, including wild rabbits, green lizards, dragonflies, coypu, herons and black-headed gulls.

Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck at catching perch, pike-perch and black-bass. Recommended types of fishing: spearfishing, predator fishing, carp fishing, fixed and roaming.
