PARC DE PROCÉ
Parc de Procé An English-style landscaped park
Azaleas, rhododendrons, magnolias, camellias, hydrangeas... The Parc de Procé is home to the whole range of plants that are now emblematic of Nantes. Designed by landscape architect Dominique Noisette in 1866, this 12-hectare park is set around the Chézine green corridor and the rocky escarpments of the Sillon de Bretagne. A romantic and picturesque English-style park, it offers numerous viewpoints from its sloping lawns. The Virginia Tulip tree near the manor house is the oldest in the département. The park is a veritable plant Noah's Ark, and over the years it has been home to a number of remarkable trees, notably magnolias, threatened by building development. Built features such as statues have also found a second life here: they bear witness to the urban history of Nantes in the 20th century. Referred to by André Breton, Paul Fort and Julien Gracq, Procé has also become part of the literary imagination.Contact
