Parc de Penn Avel
Situated on the south coast of Le Croisic, near the Baie de Jumel, this vast 9-hectare park was created from scratch on former moorland and farmland. Developed and planted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by the Levesque-Panneton family, this former seaside resort is home to two villas and numerous outbuildings. Acquired by the Conservatoire du Littoral some thirty years ago, this wooded park surrounded by stone walls is mainly made up of trees and shrubs of Mediterranean origin (holm and scrub oaks, arbutus, Aleppo pines, etc.). Opened to the public in 1979, it's a great place for a walk.
Since 2010, it has been home to a laboratory at the Ecole Centrale de Nantes, which conducts research into wave measurement.
