Les Jardins de Kermoureau
Between Guérande and Herbignac, Pays Blanc and Grande Brière, around 15 km from La Baule, the Jardins de Kermoureau welcome visitors to stroll or lose themselves in this green setting worthy of Alice in Wonderland. A moment out of time, away from the crowds, barefoot in the grass...
In this 8-hectare park, everything is an alchemy of colours, shapes, smells, light and shade, rustling foliage, softness and birdsong: the rigorous, wide and airy perspectives of the "Shakespearean gardens" and their three lined-up ponds, between the astrobale and the sundial, boxwood topiaries, rose arches, weeping elm near the well, the charm of wild perennials, secret sunken paths lined with oak trees several hundred years old leading to the old lentil pond and the water lily pond where legends, carp and kingfishers live, a theatre of greenery, natural meadows where two thoroughbreds spend their golden years, a fern garden hidden in a ruin, a granite cross, an explosion of pink and blue hydrangeas against the granite of the 19th-century farmhouse, rhododendrons and hydrangeas by the hundreds, light maples, an endangered cedar tree from which Celtic beer is made, intoxicating magnolias, ginkgo biloba, tulip trees with cat-like leaves... the "Remarkable" garden hides a thousand gardens.
Comedy troupes enchant the place.
