On the Routes des Vins, this 41-kilometre wine tour by car takes you on a journey through the bocage of the Vendée. You'll be amazed by the natural beauty of the Vendée, its heritage and its AOC wines. Welcome to the Pays de Chantonnay!
The loop starts in Chantonnay, a former industrial town famous for its lime kilns. Along the way, you'll be treated to bucolic landscapes: washhouses, castles, market towns, lakes, ponds...

Arriving in Sigournais, this pretty little village offers a historical trail. Put on your trainers and set off to discover its church, fountain and feudal castle (open only in July and August). After your visit, enjoy a braised ham, a speciality of the Vendée, accompanied by a glass of red "Les Silex" wine (A.O.C Fiefs Vendéens Chantonnay). Tradition obliges! Once you've enjoyed the regional cuisine, there's nothing better than a leisurely stroll around Lac de Rochereau to catch up on old times and breathe in the fresh Vendée air.

By car! The road takes you to the Prieuré de Grammont, one of the best preserved in France. Looking for peace and quiet? Then you've come to the right place.

To finish the loop, Puybelliard will surprise you with its old mullioned houses, church, wash-house and prison tower. Puybelliard also offers a historic walking or cycling trail.
