GÎTE DE LA CHAMPONNIÈRE

In the valleys of the Haute Mayenne, at the gateway to the Normandie Maine nature park, a warm and welcoming gîte.

The Champonnière gîte is set in the valleys of Haute Mayenne, a green, undulating landscape of bocage, alternating meadows and woods. Le Ribay is 20 km from the Normandie Maine Regional Nature Park and Mont des Avaloirs. There are numerous hiking trails in the surrounding area.
This small, single-storey house is fully equipped with a fitted kitchen, lounge area, 2 bedrooms, each with 2 twin beds, and a shower room with a large walk-in shower. Beds and linen are provided on arrival, and utilities are included (only cleaning is optional). You'll love the large terrace and lawned garden bordered by tall trees.
Local shops are in the village of Le Ribay 1.5km away, or in Charchigné 2.2km. More shops in Javron 8km or Villaines-la-Juhel 11km).
For heritage lovers, discover Lassay-les-Châteaux, with its fortified castle, medieval garden and rose garden, and the town of Mayenne, with its historic centre and its castle, now a museum on the theme of games in the Middle Ages, and its towpath.
Nearby, the vélo-rail (16km) for an unusual ride from the flower-filled village of Saint Loup du Gast.
Fishing is possible 300m away, in the Aisne river (1st category), and at the Perles (17km) or Bondi (3km) ponds.
Several lakes for swimming and water games: at La Ferté Macé (25km), La Haie Traversaine (22km) and Coco plage (29km). Water parks with swimming pools at Villaines-la-Juhel (11km) or Mayenne (19km).

The owners are farmers, and the gîte is close to their farm, which raises dairy cattle on grassland. Tours available on request.
