La ferme pédagogique de la Jarrie
The Jarrie educational farm is a place where you can take the time to look, listen, feel, discover and share... All activities must be booked in advance, including self-guided tours.
La Ferme de la Jarrie is an ancestral site, emblematic of the commune of Nesmy and the surrounding area. Faced with the increasing remoteness of today's adults and the disconnection with Nature, encouraged by the omnipresence of screens and theme parks, a team of three volunteers decided in 2016 to create the association "La Ferme Pédagogique de la Jarrie".Today, the association has around thirty members, including twenty active members. It offers an enriching alternative for families in the department, as well as for visitors passing through. It is also an ideal learning environment for educational institutions (schools, colleges, training centres).
It opened to the public on 24 March 2019 and immediately attracted the attention of educational establishments, whether for adult training, school activities for children or programmes for people with disabilities. La Ferme de la Jarrie has established itself as a key venue for families in the département, who are often looking for a way to reconnect with nature.
To date, more than a hundred visitors have passed through the farm's gates. The volunteers, with their skills and know-how, play a key role in the life of this place, sharing their knowledge with the trainees, who are also involved in the smooth running of the site.
