Église Saint-Jacques
The church is remarkable for its altarpieces, exposed stone side aisles and acoustics.
The church was built in the 11th century with a single nave. It was pillaged during the Wars of Religion and burnt down during the Wars of the Vendée. The present nave, unique at the time, was rebuilt on the walls that remained standing. Then, successively, in 1844 and 1863, the 2 sides were added. The 3 18th century altarpieces, listed as Historic Monuments, were built on the initiative and at the expense of the priest Nicolas Boussicault. They are the work of Lézine artist Denis Glédu. At the very top, in the glory, is Saint Jacques, patron saint of the parish.
The entire church was recently repainted in 2009. A team of volunteers came to help restore the 2 side aisles with exposed stonework.
